Day 1 : Departure - Day 1
Departure time and location: Nomads Noosa: 6:30am Rainbow Beach: 9.15 BP Garage, Rainbow Beach Road. Contact: 0457 698 050 / 07 3184 0952 if you need to reach us on the day of departure. The day is finally here, the first day of your awesome K'gari (Fraser Island) adventure We'll depart from Nomads Noosa Backpackers nice & early at 6.30am. After we get your luggage into storage, you'll be heading towards Rainbow Beach where you'll be arriving after a 1.5-2hr drive. We stop here to collect, food and the 4WD's. (If you are being picked up in Rainbow Beach, we will collect you from the BP Petrol station at 9.15am. Once the vehicle orientation is done, its a short drive to the ferry and 10 minutes later you are on K'gari, landing at Hook Point on the Southern tip of K'gari. Enjoy the day exploring the Island before heading back to the campsite for an authentic Aussie Beach shower (cold water) to rinse off before you have a few cold ones while cooking dinner and sitting around the camp fire. If you are starting in Noosa and returning to Noosa - we will store your bag free of charge and at your own risk at Nomads If you are starting from Noosa and ending in Rainbow - take your big bags with you and these are stored free of charge at your own risk in our workshop while on the Island.

Day 2 : Day 2
Your second day means another early start so you get to make the most of your time on the island! After breakfast (continental style breakfast - cereal, toasts, spread, tea & coffee), we continue your adventure K'gari adventure. Back to the same camp site, help with dinner prep and then hang with your new friends.

Day 3 : Day 3
Today, after breakfast we continue seeing the sights. We start to head home around lunch time. A brief stop at Rainbow Beach before driving back to Nomads Noosa arriving anytime between 3.00 - 6.00pm. Hand in your linen packs, fill out a feedback form and then head to your room if you have booked accommodation with your tour. We suggest staying overnight in Noosa as we cannot guarantee you will be back in time to catch you plane or bus, plus we don't want you to miss out on the entertainment we have at KB's bar. If you are ending your tour in Rainbow, please return your sleeping bag to your guide in exchange for your deposit. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK ANY OUTBOUND TRAVEL as we cannot guarantee a return time. An amazing end to an amazing trip!

Big bags can be stored with us in Rainbow Beach at your own risk and free of charge.

  • Sleeping bag hire  (Refundable deposit to be paid on day of departure from Nomads Noosa reception)  If starting from Rainbow please state Rainbow Pick up and sleeping bag will be arrange. 

  • Car hire Excess fee (see terms and conditions) - Option to pay for extra cover once in Rainbow Beach

  • Optional extra  to the package can include 2 nights in a 16 share mixed en-suite dorm at Nomads Noosa which provides the opportunity to get to know the rest of your tour group departure. If this is not for you, there are options to upgrade to a smaller or private room (subject to availability).

    Note for Agents

  • Return trip - Guests are driven back to Nomads Noosa at the end of the trip.  PLEASE DO NOT BOOK ANY OUTBOUND TRAVEL as we cannot guarantee a return time.

  • Tour aims to be back in Rainbow between 12noon - 2pm and in Noosa between 3.00 pm - 6.00 pm. Can be earlier or later depending on traffic, cars, beach conditions / tides / delays at ferry etc. We do not recommend any outbound travel on the day of return as you are rarely back in Noosa in time to get the bus. If you are leaving by bus from Rainbow we suggest the latest departure time (late afternoon/early evening).

  • No wifi at the campsite

  • Drivers need to be 21 yrs + and have 2 years driving experience - License must be written in full English or accompanies by an International drivers license. No photocopies accepted)
